Introduction of Journal of Tea Science
Journal of Tea Science was established in August 1964, approved by the Publicity Department, CCCPC. Chairman ZHU De inscribed the title for the journal. The journal was discontinued during the Cultural Revolution in 1966, and was reissued in August 1984, approved by the State Scientific and Technological Commission.Academician CHENZongmao and Academician LIU Zhonghuaof the Chinese Academy of Engineering served as the chairmen of the editorial board.
Journal of Tea Science is governed by the China Association for Science and Technology,sponsored by the China Tea Science Society and the Tea Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and published by the Editorial Office, Journal of Tea Science. It is the only journal in the field of tea science that is included in the core area of the Chinese Science Citation Database.Its Domestic Unified Serial Number is CN 33-1115/S, International Standard Serial Number is ISSN 1000-369X and its international publication code is CODEN-CHKEF4. At present, Journal of Tea Science is a bimonthly journal, published in the middle of each even-numbered month, with a book size of 16-mo.
Journal of Tea Science is an academic publication that reflects both the current state and future directions of research related to tea. Since 1989, Journal of Tea Science has been rated as an excellent academic journal many times by the China Association for Science and Technology, the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the China Association of Agricultural Science Societies. In 2024, the journal was honored with the “Zhejiang Shuren Publishing Award for Journals”. Since 2005, Journal of Tea Science has successively won the First Prize of Outstanding Scientific and Technological Journals of the Zhejiang Provincial Society of Editology for Scientific and Technological Periodicals. In 2016, Journal of Tea Science was awarded the Special Prize of Outstanding Scientific and Technological Journals. In 2015, Journal of Tea Science was supported by the Project of Excellent Sci-tech Journals of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology (2015-2017), and the academic quality of the journal was improved. In the 2016 annual inspection carried out by the China Association for Science and Technology, Journal of Tea Science was rated asan Excellent Publication. In 2012, Journal of Tea Science was included in the China Biology Medicine disc (CBMdisc) in the China Biomedical Literature Service System (SinoMed). In 2014, it was rated as the Core Journal in China Agriculture and included in Chinese Agricultural Core Periodicals. Since 2015, it has repeatedly been awarded the title of "RCCSE China Core Academic Journal (A+). At present, Journal of Tea Science has been included in well-known domestic and foreign databases such as China Science Citation Database, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang, CLEARD, Scopus, EBSCO, CABI, and FSTA.
The aim of the Journal of Tea Science is to report the latest scientific research achievements in tea studies, facilitate academic discussion, promote scholarly exchange, advance the development of tea science, and effectively support the national economy.Its content covers tea cultivation, breeding, pest and disease control, tea processing, tea biochemistry, tea machinery, tea technology and economics, comprehensive utilization, as well as medical and health-related aspects.The journal’s readership includes researchers, university faculty and students, technicians, managers, and policy-makers in the tea industry.
