Submission guidelines

  • Guidelines for Manuscript Submission to Journal of Tea Science

    1. Scope

    I.                   This journal only publishes innovative academic articles related to tea studies, including research reports, brief reports and reviews.

    2.  Channels and requirements of submission

    (1)   The editorial office only uses the manuscripts submitted by the editing system (http://cykk.cbpt.cnki.net) on the website of Journal of Tea Science (www.tea-science.com). When a manuscript is submitted, please be sure to fill in all relevant information in the system, such as authors’ education background, academic degree, professional title, mobile phone number, E-mail, QQ and mailing address. The processing of manuscripts is completed in the editing system, which can display and record the entire process of manuscript handling.

    (2)   Manuscripts from other submission channels will not be accepted.

    (3)   Manuscripts shall not be submitted via third-party agencies. Once such cases are confirmed, the manuscripts will be rejected.

    (4)   Required items and their order in manuscripts

    Article title→Authors’ names→ Affiliations, addresses and zip codes→Abstract→Key words→English information (including: article title, authors’ names, affiliations, addresses and zip codes, abstract, key words)→ Main body text→Acknowledgement (not compulsory)→References→Brief introduction of the first author→Information about funds and projects (if any)→Contact information of authors and other statements.

    (5)   Fonts and layout

    A finally confirmed manuscript in Word version shall be submitted (do not submit a manuscript in revision mode). The Songti fontshould be used for Chinese characters, and the font of Times New Roman is used for western letters. The page size is A4, and all the margins are2.6 cm. A single-column layout should be used, with a font size of10.5 ptand a line spacing of17 ptin main body text. The word spacing is widened by0.3 pt, and the first lines are indented by 2 characters.

    (6)   The journal charges a review fee of RMB 400 per manuscript that passes the initial review. For accepted manuscripts, a publication fee is charged as follows: RMB 400 per page, with an additional RMB 500 for each page including color figures.

    (7)The journal employs the CNKI Academic Misconduct Literature Checksystem to detect all submissions for plagiarism. Manuscripts that do not meet the requirements will be rejected.


    3.  Article templates

    (1) Requirement of overall page settings

    The page margins:2.6 cmfor all margins, the gutter margin is0 mm, and the gutter position is left.

    The page size: width21.3 cm, height29.1 cm.

    The layout: a continuous section, and the headers/footers on odd pages are different from those on even pages. The headers are1.7 cmaway from the border, and0 cmfor the footers. The vertical alignment of page is top alignment.

    Document grid: 1 column, grid layout, specify only line grid, 41 lines,16.5 ptline spacing.

    The units of measurement: Chinese national standards are adopted. Units are presented in productform, such as mg·L-1,mg·L-1·d-1.

    The background knowledge, cited materials and data should be accurate, and the used concepts, terms, symbols, formulas should be in accordance with academic standards. Seriously mistranslation should be avoided. Discussion on academic questions should be complete and systematic, and reasoning should be strict. Key words should be properly selected. The research results should not be confused with other people’s opinions, materials, data, etc. When others’ opinions, data, methods are cited, the source should be indicated. The format of references complies with the standard GB/T 7714—2015. Language should be refined and expression should be accurate. Sentences should conform to the modern Chinese norms. Characters and punctuation used should be standardized and legal units of measurement should be used correctly.
