Copyright and OA Policy
Journal of Tea Science transitioned to open access model starting from Issue 1, 2025. Once published, the articles can be immediately and permanently read and downloaded free of charge from the journal’s official website. All articles published between 2003 and 2024 are turned to open access works and are available for free reading and download on this website. Articles published before 2003 are not open access works, but some of them can be accessed for free on this website. The copyright of these articles belongs to the journal’seditorial office, which reserves all rights.
Reuse of all open access articles published in the journal is defined by the following license: Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0). This license allows users to copy and redistribute the articles of the journal in any medium or format, provided they adhere to the following terms: users must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes to the articles were made. Users may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the journal endorses the use. Users may not use the articles for commercial purposes. If users re-mix, transform, or build upon the articles, they may not distribute the modified articles. Authors are required to sign the Copyright Transfer Agreement, transferring the copyright of their paper to the Editorial Office of Journal of Tea Science. The Editorial Office of Journal of Tea Science will hold the copyright of the paper, including but not limited to the rights of compilation, reproduction, translation, online dissemination, distribution, and authorization for inclusion in literature retrieval systems or databases, covering print, electronic, and any new media forms that may arise in the future.The authorsshall agree to the journal’s open access policy. The authors and third-party users are permitted to reproduce and distribute the article under the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 License.
In addition to open access on the official journal website, the full texts of the journal's articles are also stored in databases such as CNKI, Wanfang Data and CQVIP. Readers can visit those platforms for the full-textarticles. In addition, it is allowed for authors to deposit all versions of their articles in an institutional or other repository of the authors' choice. However, it is necessary to indicate the articles' publication information in the metadata in the institutional or other repository and use that as a recommended way of citation.
